PDO Treatment

1How does it work?
We use the PRP from your blood to inject or apply topically to the skin along with an exclusive, leading-edge growth factor serum that stimulates collagen synthesis.
2How long does it take to see results?
Results vary. Typically people see results instantly within the first 24 hours, but results improve over the weeks following treatment.
3Does it hurt?
We use a special numbing cream to take away any discomfort. You are awake during the entire procedure. Following the procedure, you may experience some mild tenderness after the cream wears off. The tenderness is only temporary and will be to the degree of a very mild sunburn.
4How long are the sessions?
They typically last about 60 minutes from start to finish.
5Will it work for acne?
Yes. It works very well for active acne as well as acne scarring. Dr. Jin will discuss expected results at your free consultation.
6What is Platelet Rich Plasma?
PRP is a small portion taken from you blood where we rely on the platelets to release growth factors to stimulate growth naturally.
7What are the side effects?
There may be a temporary mild sunburn-like feeling to the skin. We have never had any adverse effects from the procedure.
8How long do results last?
Everyone is different. We recommend that patients follow-up annually after having their first series of treatments. This will maintain or even boost results.
9How many treatments can I have?
Because the treatment uses your own platelets your body won’t reject it, thus you can undergo the treatment as many times as you like. Though we wouldn’t recommend more often than once a month.
10Can I shower afterwards?
Yes, the day of the treatment we recommend rinsing your face with warm water and you may return to your regular routine the following day.
11What do I need to do to prepare?
It is important to drink plenty of fluids and be sure to avoid taking any NSAIDs or anti-inflammatory drugs at least 1 week prior to getting treatment. Also, be sure to remove contacts and any makeup from the face.
12How should I take care of my skin afterwards?
We definitely recommend continuing with a good aftercare skin regimen. We have recommended skincare products available for purchase in the clinic and online.
13What is the suggested time between treatments?
It Varies. People in their 20s-30s should get treatments about 1 month apart and people in their 40s and older should get treatments about 6 weeks apart. This is because older people take longer to synthesize collagen, hence the reason why we want to give your body more time between treatments.
14Is this treatments safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?
Yes. Because our treatments use your own blood there are no adverse side effects or risk of an allergic reaction occurring, the growth factors stay local, and all treatments are custom-tailored to fit your individual situation.
15What types of skin problems does it work for?
Acne, rosacea, sun spots, melisma, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and rough texture.
